Biology
Here are some tips to improve in biology:
1. Know the Syllabus
To excel in biology, you must know every part of the syllabus. Learn each dot-point with enough detail so you are able to answer a question of any number of marks. Before an exam, sit with the syllabus outline and review the key-points of every dot-point in your head
2. Practice, Practice Practice!
It is one thing to know the syllabus, but it is another to be able to put all that information down on a piece of paper. This is only improved through practicing different questions
3. Know how much to write
The amount you need to write is given in the number of marks allocated to the question. If a question is only 1 mark, the marker is only looking for one thing. If it is worth 2 marks, the marker is looking for 2 things and an explanation for each. This pattern continues for questions worth up to 4 marks. Review the answer to your question as if you are a marker, giving a mark for each NEW aspect stated. This skill is developed through lots of practice.
